(Song Used: Rapture - Hurt)
We’ve reached the Top 50 now! This is more traditionally the halfway point but we technically counted down 112 instead of 100. But we’re at the point where at least in my opinion a lot of these episodes are really good. Some of the next few episodes particularly in this set may still be a little bit on the fence. But otherwise considering there’s episodes in the 70’s part of the list that I do really, really like in parts it should say good things about the episodes placed from here on out.
(Song Used: The Way - Fastball)
By the end of this part we will have reached the halfway point of this list! The first 56 episodes will have been covered with another 56 to go. We’re finally rising up the ranks where we’ll be getting close to the really good stuff
(BTW I am aware that Season 6 is starting sooner then we thought. When we get to the week of the 21st of March. There will be two parts going up on the Monday (#30-#26, #25-#21), Tuesday (#20-#16, #15-11), and Thursday (#10-#6, #5-#1). So that the countdown ends only a few days before Season 6 begins)
(Song Used: Blow Me Away - Breaking Benjamin)
We’re one quarter into the 100 now (And 1/3rd into the entire series. 21 Parts, this is the 7th one). In this grouping is our first appearance from a two-parter and mostly Season 1 Episodes
(Song Used: Unkind - Hurt)
This is the point where Season 6 would have to be near perfect in every way for any of these episodes to be under threat of going under 100. But every season has their ups and downs and it’s pretty much assured there will be a few duds here and there. Now it would be cool if Season 6 was utterly perfect in every way as that’d mean we have awesome stuff every new episode then. But each season except for Season 3 was 26 episodes, that’s a lot of work on the writing staff and for every really good idea they manage to pull off they can sometimes rush and/or become a bit lackadaisical about some others. But anyway, this is also the point in the Countdown where the episodes are starting to get to that point where there’s a lot of episodes around the same level. I’d say from this point until #55-#51 is the part where you could probably switch it all around in any order and I’d be fine. Every episode of FiM even the best ones have some flaws and/or things you could nitpick to death. So while I can try to say which ones are better or worse there is a point where it’s hard because some episodes are at about the same quality that is really up the “Which would you rather watch” preference. And even that’s not clear because there may be an episode from this part that I may want to sometimes watch again even over episodes that are ranked in the 50’s cause of something in particular.
Hey today I saw the preview for next month’s issue of the MLP Comic. I’ve actually not been too into the comics. Not that I’m not interested in them, just that they’re not readily available nearby. And I don’t want to bother with any kind of subscriptions.
However, for the next issue. I may just have to buy it cause already from the cover, premise, and the three page preview it has a few things that if you’ve known me long enough. You know I absolutely adore
1. Filly Twilight
2. Twilight’s Parents possibly playing a decent role (Some people may worry we may not get Twi’s parents elaborated on in the show. But I don’t think this rules out a “Twi’s Parents come to visit” type of episode. With Cadence and Shining Armor’s baby. Maybe they even come by to see their Granddaughter for the first time, If we can get a look into Pinkie’s family, I soooo hope we can get that at the very least)
3. Baby Spike being taken care of by Twilight (While we’re pretty sure at this point the Comic’s aren’t entirely based on Canon. As they seem to be as a loose canon, things that happen in the show are canon to it like Twilight’s ascension, but not necessarily the other way around. Still though, it’s always been a guess on whether or not Filly Twi actually did get to take care of Baby Spike or if they just handed him off to Celestia until Twilight was finally ready to keep him as an assistant. So to have an official source of any kind, even if there is a chance the show contradicts it at one point is awesome news. And it fits well with some of the headcanon stuff I put into Genie Twilight as blog-canon. Especially with Twilight’s Mother’s story in the Mother’s Day special from 2 years ago)
4. And while this is more minor in comparison, it also happens to pander a bit to the TwiDash shipper in me considering Rainbow is the only character hearing Twilight’s story.
It’s almost as if this comic was practically pandered to me with how much is potentially there. I already feel like this is a must-buy personally :D
