Rewatching a couple episodes of FiM Season 1.
…it doesn’t carry the same weight as a couple years ago, but I can still feel a bit of that charm, and it’s refreshing in a way. It’s easy as hell to get caught up in the fandom portion of things without...
While sometimes I feel some people overrate Season 1 a bit (Especially those who denounce Season 2 and 3 and act like Season 1 was Perfect). I’m fine if they prefer it, as it’s great when there’s differing opinions. I just stand firm though that I think even though there are some points where Season 2’s worst is worse then Season 1’s worst. I just think it overall improved on just about everything Season 1 had going for it, and Season 2’s best in my opinion blew Season 1’s best out of the water at times.
I also don’t think Season 3 deserves all of it’s bad rap it seems to get (Most of it being AliTwi or to a lesser extent Discord’s reformation in Keep Calm and Flutter On), though I admit I’m still deciding if I like it more overall then Season 1 or not. It’s at a terrible disadvantage from the very beginning anyway since it had only 13 episodes. But still had the same split of great, good, average, and meh that’s present in both the previous seasons. And I believe at least 4 of the 13 episodes are recommendable (Magic Duel, Sleepless in Ponyville, Wonderbolt Academy, and yes… Magical Mystery Cure.)
I still however love Season 1 for some of the most iconic parts of the show. Plus there’s at least one Season 1 episode I have an unfathomable love for: Cutie Mark Chronicles x3
