The Washouts was a pretty good episode! I’ve always kind of imagined an awesome way to return Lightning Dust was to involve Scootaloo who doesn’t know what Lightning’s done in the past to kind of see Lightning as a more rebellious/fight the power version of Rainbow Dash. And this episode pretty much played that out perfect.

I’ve heard that some people saw Rainbow being a little too selfish in this episode? To be fair some of it is indeed she gets a little jealous of Scootaloo following Lightning a little more. But have we forgotten already what Lightning did in the past? She almost got most of Rainbow’s friends killed. Rainbow has perfectly good reasons for trying to get Scoots away from Lightning.

Also the Saturday Night Live reference from Spitfire to the ol’ Matt Foley skit was hilarious. I’ve always loved that skit. So it was a pleasant surprise to see it in MLP.
