Rarity and Sweetie Belle episodes are usually a treat. This one was no exception.
It’s based on a pretty relatable moral that works for not just siblings, but also parents and as seen in the episode as well, kids and their pets. People change, what you did as a kid might not appeal to you when you’re reaching your teenage years though probably a good idea to communicate that early or else your elders will end up embarrassing you in front of your peers. And as for pets they get old, they may not have the energy to play with the toys they did as a puppy or they get smart and know you’re sometimes not going to throw the ball or whatever toy you liked to make them chase when you do a fake throw.
But most of all I think it’s a good show of how Sweetie Belle has changed. It’s been kinda noticeable the past few seasons but it seems Sweetie’s own voice actor has kinda grew with the character since there’s definitely a noticeable difference in her voice then it was early on. Which is of course due to puberty and such, we don’t hear quite as many squeaky lines. I believe someone even compared a screenshot of this episode and an earlier season episode and Sweetie was a little bit taller though it’s still a little hard to see that in some ways since it’s not that big of a height difference. Still it’s not a big problem, it’s how they change on the inside that counts for this episode more then on the outside. And I think this episode played that out pretty well.
Next up is Parental Glidance. And I’ll say I definitely enjoyed that one just seeing it through the Treehouse leaks. I’ll be more than happy to give my thoughts on it next week. Seeya then!
