Fluttershy Leans In is a little bit of a strange episode. Because it seems to say Fluttershy has had a dream yet this just comes out now when we thought Fluttershy was already kinda comfortable where she already was. In fact in some ways I was confused because I thought Fluttershy’s cottage and surrounding areas was already kind of a sanctuary for animals given how much animals surround her home.

Though I suppose it’s kinda hard for animals to truly be themselves in Fluttershy’s home because Fluttershy still has to live in her own home. And it sounds like a good idea for Fluttershy to have a more focused spot for Animals.

Though I think the true purpose of this episode was to show how far Fluttershy has come since the beginning of the show. The Fluttershy of the earlier seasons would of just given in to the expert’s changes but after 6 seasons of learning to stand up for herself she finally stands up for what she wants rather then be a doormat for others so in that way this is an episode that exemplifies Fluttershy’s character development more then anything.

Though to be fair on Fluttershy’s side things her instructions were kinda vague, and that probably didn’t help matters with the experts who are used to more detailed instruction or have their own view on what works. Though I’m not saying the experts were right much either as their changes don’t exactly work for animals whatsoever. Just that both Fluttershy and the experts had some justification for what they did. Fluttershy’s Sanctuary was a dream project that while she did try to draw a detailed map didn’t exactly know how to translate that to the experts without it sounding like a optimistic, vague instructions that the experts aren’t used to following. And the experts of course had their own things that made them successful and known as experts, but didn’t exactly translate to work for an animal sanctuary.

It is a pretty good Fluttershy episode though, most fans of Fluttershy should welcome this episode as a good showing of how much she’s developed over the length of the show.

Next up is Forever Filly, another episode between Sweetie Belle and Rarity. Which often always results in a good episode. (Heck, I already saw it through the Treehouse leaks. So spoiler alert: It was good in my opinion. But still waiting till’ after the American release to give my full thoughts)
