It also kind of bothers me that Starlight is essentially a wingless alicorn, but in a way it kind of nerfed the average unicorn. Trixie is certainly above average yet it showed that she lacks the ability to teleport, that she is far from gifted even if slightly above average, further driving home the fact that uniciorns like Starlight, or Sunset are an anomaly. HOWEVER I feel like people will use Starlight as a blueprint to make 'wingless alicorn' OC's -.- Even more then before.

Well Bad OC’s are pretty much a given no matter what when a fanbase is big enough.

But it is certainly a bit startling to count what Starlight’s been capable of. And there really hasn’t been a solid explanation for why she’s so talented in Magic. The stuff she did in the Season 5 opener is one thing, but upon her next major appearance she shows the capability of self-levitation, and now recently she creates a cake by simply fusing the utensils and ingredients together. Both of those things are kind of stuff that even some fans would cry bullshit on even if Twilight did it.

I don’t particularly dislike Starlight, nor do I particularly like her at the moment. I’m more apathetic to her. But things like this are what’s holding me back from her truly growing on me and/or swaying one way or another.
