Actually I would have to respectfully disagree with you on calling Sonic Boom average. Because honestly, it's not even average, the game is just plain boring/bad. Don't just take my word for it, well-known gamers including ProJared and the renowned Jim Sterling have said that the game is terrible and even worse than Sonic 06.

I’m sorry, but there is no way I can consider any game in the entire Sonic franchise. Including Rise of Lyric, to be worse then Sonic 06. It’s a literal impossibility to me.
I’m not saying Rise of Lyric isn’t a bad game. But I think it’s more on Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Chronicles type of bad.
Saying it’s anywhere near Sonic 06 bad is a gross exaggeration.
