I Dream of Twilight modblog
I also want to find out if you're going to answer the questions related to Dragon Quest and Sisterhooves Social that I've sent to you, since you haven't responded to them yet.

I’ll probably answer your Flash Sentry thing either this weekend next week (Don’t have enough time and I’m not online much on Fridays). But from what I see both your Dragon Quest and Sisterhooves Social stuff weren’t really questions as they were talking about how you feel about the episode or at least for Dragon Quest why you feel like you had a personal connection. I do kinda like what they did with Spike in Dragon Quest myself. It’s how they portray the dragons like they’re all monsters just because Spike happens to find a group of jerkish teenage dragons when both Spike and the Ponies could of learned something if Spike ran into some actual nice dragons. There was just missed potential there.

And it’s ok to say Sisterhooves Social is your favorite of the series. It’s one of my favorites of Season 2. Not one of my personal all-time favorites but that’s not to say I don’t like it. It is one of the best episodes. And part of why I hope Cindy Morrow if she’s back for Season 5 at all, I hope she’s recovered from her Season 3 funk (One Bad Apple and Apple Family Reunion were quite poor especially in comparison to Sisterhooves Social and Hurricane Fluttershy). Cause when Cindy is on a roll like she was in Season 2, she really puts out some really good episodes of Friendship is Magic.

Tomodachi Life - July 29-31

Here we go again ^^

Are you still busy with stuff? Since one of the asks I've sent you haven't been answered yet.

I suppose I can get back to answering your questions soon. Which asks do you really, really want me to answer though? Is it more Flash Sentry talk? If so, we might just have to get to an agree to disagree status on that because I’ll never see Flash being made a more important character a good thing for the show. Or do you want me to really answer the thing you said about Dragon Quest or Sisterhooves Social? Or if it’s about going to theaters. I haven’t gone to the theater alot. The last movie I went to see was Wreck-It Ralph (Which was a great movie, as a big gamer myself)

Tomodachi Life - July 25-27

Tomodachi Life ^^

Hey this is just going to be a fun kind of post where I’m going share some images of my experience with Tomodachi Life. In case you don’t know what the game about. It’s a mix between Sims & Animal Crossing. Where you bring Miis into an island that you own and you observe their lives by interacting with them by feeding them, giving them clothes or gifts, giving them phrases or songs to sing, having them make friends, make them date each, and even marry or have a baby together. First I’ll post a list of all the Miis I currently have:

Nintendo Characters: Waluigi, Samus, Peach, Rosalina, Wario, Toon Link, Ness, Captain Falcon, Ganondorf, Mario, Luigi, Link, Zelda,  Little Mac, Villager, Mii Swordsman, Mii Gunner, Mii Brawler (18)

Nintendo Buisnessmen: Iwata, Sakurai, Reggie, Miyamoto, Bill Trinen (5)

Ponies: Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, Trixie, Twilight, Applejack, Derpy, Rainbow, Rarity, Apple Bloom, Fluttershy, Pinkie (11)

Let’s Players: Nintendo Caprisun, Proton Jon, Chuggaaconroy (3)

Family: My Mom,  Myself, My Dad (3)

Friends: Navitas, Jorge (2)

That’s a total of 42 Miis alltogether as of this post. But now to show you what kind of things have happened on the island.

Our first three villagers! This is my own Mii, Navitas, and the Twilight Mii I have.  It looks like Twi’s beating us at a Wii U game heh heh.

And here’s Twilight reading a book ^^ (Hair color’s different because while of course Mii’s in the Mii Maker don’t have the Pony mane colors, there is a hair color spray that can change the Mii’s hair color. And it’s got something that fits with pretty much most of the Mane 6 and other ponies.)

Mainly images of ponies doing stuff ^^ Rarity putting on Makeup, Pinkie playing the Maracas, Rainbow playing with a Soccer ball and Skateboarding, Trixie looking at herself in the mirror, and Applebloom and Sweetie sleeping on a bench (D'awww)

You might be wondering, just what in the heck is happening here? These are a part of the dreams that Miis can have. They can get pretty weird. With Navitas having swooshing hair, Jorge landing on a Giant Burger in the Sky, many Miis worshipping a disposable diaper, and Fluttershy dreaming she’s a superheroine with a fairy Jorge

That said, the game is called Tomodachi Life. Tomodachi meaning friend, so it’s be a mistake not to show what kind of Friendship moments can happen in the game ^^ Me and Navitas sleeping on a bench, Twi and Trixie getting photos, Me and Rainbow beating Sakurai on the Wii U, Me and Navitas taking a vacation to Hawaii, Rainbow splashing Rarity, Jorge and Reggie on a Roller Coaster. All sorts of fun.

But I’m sure you’re all wondering if I managed to have any Miis fall in love yet. The answer is yes. I have 3 current relationships. There’s one that I got no images of. But currently my Rainbow Dash Mii started a relationship with a Chuggaaconroy (Popular Let’s Player) Mii. Interesting to note that Applejack also fell in love with Chuggaa. But when she tried, Chugga rejected her, then she went to try again only to find out of course that Rainbow was already dating him. So… yeah. I gave AJ a travel ticket. And she went to Africa. When she came back. She cheered up. But anywhere the next one I do have at least one picture of:

image

That’s Fluttershy with Jorge. Jorge’s one of my online friends. They’re actually the island’s first couple. I don’t know how Jorge will react when I tell him a digital version of himself is in a relationship with Fluttershy. But it’ll be interesting. But now for the last one…

That’s right ^^ My own Mii and Twilight’s are also a couple in the game currently. Talk about perfect. (If any of ya judge me on this, come on. Even the Nintendo guys basically advertised themselves wanting Samus in the Nintendo Direct. It’s all in good fun anyway)

Anyway, that’s all I have here. I may have more Tomodachi Life posts here in the future if any more highlight stuff happens. But for now I just want to say this is quite the addicting game, and a good game to multi-task since you can just watch most of the time if you want. I’ll probably enjoy this game for quite a while~

And your beef about Flash Sentry not being a compelling character so far, is exactly my issue with people like you and most of the fandom overreacting about some harmless character. I mean look, just because Flash stole your and most other bronies waifu, it's ridiculous to treat it as some unforgivable crime that you people are still butthurt about. Since in my opinion, I personally wouldn't mind or have any real issue with the show introducing the character in a major role.

I was going to compile all your asks. But I need this to get out of the way right now especially on the whole “just because Flash stole your and most other bronies waifu, it’s ridiculous to treat it as some unforgivable crime that you people are still butthurt about”

I am telling you right now that the biggest reason I don’t like Flash Sentry is NOT just because he happens to be for a part of one movie in a romantic relationship with my favorite pony. There’s more to it then that. If they actually did give someone to Twilight to have some sort of relationship with. They should at least try to give them chemistry or something to make me like “Alright Twilight loves this guy/stallion, let’s see what this brings”. Because Flash hardly has a personality, there’s nothing for Twilight’s own to rub off of. Even from a neutral perspective I would think that Twilight and Flash’s relationship is entirely uninteresting just on the basis that Twilight has loads more character to her then Flash does. What brings us to the show is the characterization of the many characters of the show and we want to see them bounce off eachother. There is none of that between Flash and Twilight. If instead of Flash Sentry, there was an episode where Twilight dates Big Mac, Braeburn, Fancy Pants, or any other established character I would be curious to see how it works out because we know something of the other character already and we get to see how it works in a romance setup with Twilight. You don’t get that from Flash.

I just want to point out to you that, I don't actually hate Flash Sentry like you do. Because, let me ask you this, so what if he’s looks more at home on a terrible Disney Channel sitcom? I mean there is a way to do that kind of character and still have him be good.

(Seminoles added more in a note. Which I’ll put below these parentheses in bold and italic. My response will be in normal text)

“Ok yes, Twilight did have a bad case of puppy love with Flash, but come on, she’s a teenager. Shallow crushes happen at that age, and we really should be glad she didn’t end up with someone like Hans from Frozen. Besides, Flash would treat her right. He seems like a gentleman and is shown to apply himself both physically and musically. He’s not a bad person at all. In fact, he’s genuinely helpful. He helps Twilight for the sake of it and without ulterior motive (If you ever call me a White Knight, because I do cut him some slack, then I will strangle you).

But then again…we know very little about him. He rarely says “I like this” or “I view things this way.” One problem I actually have with him is that I don’t care about him. The story failed to generate any interest in him for me. I mean if he was instead written out of the plot, no one would mind.

So, bottom line, I think he’s overhated and that I feel that you along with most people in the fandom are overreacting, though I’ll say that I just don’t find him compelling.

Ok first I want to answer something you said during the puppy love paragraph. You said Twilight is a teenager… Iiiii disagree with that notion. I’ve always seen at least most of the Mane 6 were at least young adults ranging from the equivalent of 17-24 years in age for us. The reason I say that is because the Ponies already have actual jobs to themselves. Especially Rarity and Applejack who run a boutique and a farm and they live on their own where their parents might be miles away (Or in the case of Applejack, possibly deceased). I just don’t see them as Teenagers. Maybe Equestria Girls if it was 100% confirmed to be canon would basically be telling me that I’m wrong about that. But to me Twilight’s friendship studies always felt like to me as if it was like her college. Her ascension to Princesshood in Magical Mystery Cure was her graduation. Even though it’s a little odd, regardless or not if it’s canon. I kinda like to think that the portal also de-aged Twilight a bit. If it could transform her into an entirely different species, who says it couldn’t have messed with her physical age as well? It may just be that I’d like to see the Mane 6 as relatable as they can be being somewhere around the age I’m in (I’m 21 currently BTW) but I don’t think we can clearly note down just what are the Mane 6 whether they’re teens or adults cause unless the show ever refers to them as Teens, or otherwise start saying their exact ages. We can’t know for sure. We can only have personal guesses, and it just comes down to headcanon at that point. It’s my headcanon that all the Mane 6 are Young Adults of some kind with maybe a little wiggle room for Pinkie and/or Rainbow Dash being 16 or 17 at the beginning of the series but are 18 or 19 now. If you view them as teenagers that’s ok too. In shows like this, the Main Characters ages are left ambiguous so you can shape them to however you like and also makes it easier for the show-runners to get away with if the show runs a long time how the characters don’t age too much (Cause while shows like FOP and The Simpsons have gotten away with long-running shows without having the characters age all that much. It starts to become a bit of Ash Ketchum of Pokemon syndrome where we’re like “How does Ash still look like he’s 10 after all these seasons?” :P)

But anyway, getting to what was your point in asking me with Flash Sentry. It’s true that I may be overreacting a little. As for now Flash Sentry is still just a standalone thing in Equestria Girls with two inconsequential cameos in the Main series. I however am nonetheless fearful of the day if they ever decided to expand his role not just in anything related to Equestria Girls but in the main show as well. If a Season 5 episode synopsis were to have anything close to being “Twilight Sparkle is nervous for a date. A date with a Crystal Empire guard she fawns over named Flash Sentry” I would not be happy in the slightest. Not just because it’s Flash Sentry, but this show using romance and taking seriously just doesn’t feel right. I was ok with both Hearts and Hooves Day and even Simple Ways because to me those were more focused on comedy more then the romance aspects (And at least Rarity crushing on somepony has kinda shown up before with Blueblood back in Season 1). And any major romance is pretty much lampshaded, like the overly sappy compliments Big Mac and Cheerilee give eachother are just part of the love poison they were given. This is Friendship is Magic, not Love is Magic. Again, having stuff like Hearts and Hooves Day, Simple Ways, and the marriage between Cadence and Shining Armor are fine (Cadence is essentially the Princess of Love after all) but it should be spaced out and not make itself a centralized part of the show like introducing Flash Sentry as Twilight’s Coltfriend who appears from time-to-time most likely would. A scenario like that is I believe should equate to many of the Fandom’s worst nightmare scenarios such as the rest of the Mane 6 becoming Alicorns for no reason (It makes sense for Twilight, but not her friends) and/or introducing a 7th Element of Harmony just to introduce a new character to make it a Mane 7. (The show has not done everything they can possibly do with just the six. We don’t need a 7th to complicate things further and/or take screentime away from the characters we followed since the beginning).

And also about Flash Sentry not being compelling, that just kinda makes things worse. Because even Equestria Girls which is the only thing that features him didn’t do a whole lot with him. Though I personally don’t care if Season 5 were to suddenly make him the most fleshed out character in the entire show. Cause that presents a problem, the show is now taking so much focus on expanding Flash’s personality when he barely had any in what was supposed to be his kind of introduction. And it would be taking screentime from characters we care about much more then him. If they wanted us to care for Flash Sentry why would they do it now instead of leaving a blank slate for his first impression? Even though some people complain about how Canterlot Wedding didn’t really do a whole lot for Shining Armor and/or Cadence at least we got a pretty good idea what they’re like compared to Flash Sentry. And at least they actually had an effect on the plot, again unlike Flash Sentry who’s only important role in the movie was proving Twilight didn’t sabotage the prom decorations. Which could of been done by pretty much anybody else. Otherwise, he was the generic love interest placed in just to fill a High School movie cliche right down to being the ex-boyfriend of the bitchy antagonist.
