Also I actually find Sunset's redemption believable, especially when compared to the first one. Also if I remember correctly Sunset never intended to kill Twilight and her friends in the first one, because it only happened when she becomes an uncontrollable demon fueled by the negative energy from her when she was a heartless b***h. And even then before she turned into a demon, she never hurt Spike when she had the chance. So honestly Sunset in the sequel makes me want to see her in the show.
I did like Sunset in this film more then in the first for sure. Though I’m not sure I entirely buy the uncontrollable demon part. I don’t think that was ever implied that was what happened. It seemed like to me from the first film that’s what Sunset was planning the entire time (Doesn’t help it never really explained how the Element of Magic turned her into some demoness).
I am happy that at least the movie said that Sunset is still trying to redeem herself even after the conflict had ended and her helping defeat the Sirens didn’t just completely change the Students mind on her. As I do think Sunset needs to do more then that to make up for not only the events of Equestria Girls but the implied years of bullying the other students.
However, I’m still far more interested in the introduction of Human Twilight then Sunset’s plight of redeeming herself. Whenever that Spin-off series and/or a 3rd EQG film arrives.
Actually, I would have to repectfully disagree with you on how Rainbow Rocks should not be considered a good movie. Because, honestly in my opinion, I loved it, and it was so much better than the first one. Also, even though I still feel that the addition of Flash is still completely pointless, and I will agree is a major problem, most of the other problems you listed are just constant minor nitpicks.
Now, now. I didn’t say it was a bad film, heck I wouldn’t call the first one outright bad either (5 out of 10 was my score. That is average, not bad or good overall). But I think it still stands that for the most part thoughts on the film are going to depend on how you felt about the first movie. If you liked the first movie even a little bit, then you’ll like Rainbow Rocks for sure.
Those who disliked the first down to the conceptual level will not be that impressed though it is overall better constructed then the first.
I fall into a bit of a different category though. Where I’m a bit indifferent, in where I can enjoy some of the entertaining parts of the film like the Music and the fun little things done with characters outside of the Mane 6 that the fandom loves. But I’ll remain kinda critical and/or uncaring of the things that linger on that I haven’t liked about the Equestria Girls series on a conceptual level.
I’m at least excited to see what they do with Human Twilight. I think my biggest problem with the Equestria Girls series was how it had to force the Main series Twilight and scare us into thinking of the movies heavily impacting the Main series in ways that we don’t want (Like making the Pony Flash Sentry a love interest in the series). Introducing the other Twilight as a main character in a possible Spin-Off series and/or a 3rd Movie would relieve me of my lingering issues. Because now I can just see it as a spin-off that is totally harmless to the Main show. With Human Twilight, it’s alot more interesting because this is a brand new Twilight that should be reminiscent of the Twilight early in Season 1 given this one likely has not experienced friendship like the Pony one has. And Equestria Girls can finally evolve on it’s own without having to rely on plot threads coming out of Equestria to influence entire episodes. I want to see what happens when Human Twilight meets anybody (Even Flash Sentry as I noted in my thoughts about Rainbow Rocks) now, I’m actually really interested in something that Equestria Girls is teasing just because of this. In some ways I suppose, the tease at the end leaves me more excited then the entire movie itself. There’s so much potential for some enjoyable moments here, I surely hope that they really capitalize on it.
If it’s any comfort though, I do think there is legitimately more Pros then Cons to the movie. 7 out of 10 to me just means it’s good but not great from my point of view. But it’s a whole 2 steps ahead of the first, so it went in a pretty good direction all the same.
First Impressions of EQG2: Rainbow Rocks (WARNING: SPOILERS)
I just saw the camrip of Equestria Girls 2 today. If I have more to say I’ll do another post about it or you can ask me about something in particular you want to know my thoughts on about that I don’t mention here

crap I lost my list of robot ponies on tumblr and now I also need a list of genie ponies?
bonmod:
can y’all spam me with lists of the robot and/or genie pony character blogs? Art or written or rp, all is good as long as they have at least one reference picture.
Well there’s mine (That Terry mentioned), Twixie Genies, Genie Rarity, and Wishy Washy for Genie Ponies.
Yeah, maybe I should be more careful, considering the rubber came off if it That being said though, a lot if 3DS games can be played without it, like New Super Mario Bros. 2, Kirby Triple Deluxe, Sonic Generations, etc. But yeah, I don't think the 3DS version is fit for competitive play. I think that's what the Wii U version is for. I think the 3DS version is more catered toward casual play, kinda like Smash 64 and Brawl.
All Smash games will have a competitive scene of some sort. Even the 3DS version, though it will for sure focus more on the Wii U version by then when it releases. (If there are people still playing Smash 64 competitively, then yeah of course everything Smash related is going to have some sort of scene.)
Even Brawl will continue on even if mainly in the form of Project M (Which I count as Brawl anyway, the disc you put in your Wii/Wii U still says Brawl when you play Project M. Therefore it still counts as Brawl. It’s just a mod of Brawl)
Still not a fan of that desicion. The GC controllers are overrated and I've masteredthe other way to play Smash on Wii and the 3DS controls feel WAY better than it. That's just me though. XD
Yeah this is just going be another of our Agree to Disagree things.
Like Jigglypuff was yesterday. xP

That said though I can know when loving the Gamecube controller for Smash Bros. can be taken way TOO far. And an example of that is this:

Seriously, this would look so awkward if you were on a bus. It goes against what the sole advantage of having the 3DS version of Smash has: Portability. I’m willing to get used to a new control scheme for the 3DS version (Granted I still had to get a grip that made it handle like a console controller so my hands would feel better when playing) just for the sake of having Smash Bros. wherever I go. And while I do like the Gamecube controller alot, I would NEVER go for something like this.
Wait... there's going to be a Gamecube controller adapter?! I was wondering what you were going on about every time you mentioned using a Gamecube controller...
Yes indeed!
This is what the official one looks like:

There is also the unofficial Mayflash ones (I have two already, kinda jumped the gun as a result, but this was an emergency in the case they didn’t make an official one. I was going to play Smash 4 with a Gamecube controller regardless xP)
I honestly think the 3DS controlls are superior to that overrated Gamecube Controller. I loved the GC controller too, but Smash Fans need to fucking let it go already.
Don’t think they really will considering there is the official adapter that will come out around the same time as Smash 4 does.
But eh, I’m one that actually agrees that the Gamecube controller just feels the best for Smash Bros. I’m not saying all other controls are inferior. Just that I prefer to use the Gamecube controller.
Also consider this: One Wii U pro controller (Which if Nintendo wasn’t selling the adapter, would likely be the controller they’d be trying to sell us on for Smash.) is $40-50 dollars EACH. That’s just as much as the 3DS game itself or 10-20 dollars less then the Wii U version on it’s own for just one controller. If you have a sibling that likes to play Smash with you, or friends who don’t have their own Wii U that you invite over. That’s another $40-$150 dollars for just CONTROLLERS. Meanwhile, the Adapter will only be $20 (Half as much as ONE Pro Controller), and you can use the same controllers you’ve already had for years.
Even if you don’t like how Nintendo’s not going to try to make people change their control schemes. At least look at it from a “Saving Money” perspective.
Well, I know I won't be using my 3DS as a controller on the Wii U version. I'm not risking breaking my Circle Pad! XC
Just be more gentle with your 3DS’s. The people who broke their circle pads were just too hard on it. Some people really just do a little too much for Smash. I’ve heard horror stories of broken Gamecube controllers from playing Smash Bros. too much.
I don’t know about you, but like I said I have a Gamecube controller that I’ve used for Smash since Melee was new. And it still works fine. It absolutely puzzles me just what some players do to their controllers while playing Smash Bros.
Now just imagine those kind of players getting the 3DS Smash Bros. in their hands. Good gracious!
In short, even if you’re in an intense match against other players and/or hard CPU. Try not to put too much pressure on your 3DS. The players that broke their circle pads just abused their 3DS too much while playing and/or they wore out the circle pad from playing other games and Smash Bros. was just the last straw.
A circle pad is easily replaceable though. You can find some backup ones online. (The only bad thing would be not being able to play Smash until you got it, playing with the stick on the 3DS without the circle pad can be harmful for your fingers because the edge of the stick without the circle pad is sharp)
It's actually been confirmed that you will be able to use the 3DS as a controller
That’s pretty neat then. Again I won’t be using it.
But that is good in the case that maybe in the case where Super Smash Bros. for 3DS is their first Smash Bros. game (Kids and such) and they just can’t use something else as well cause they don’t want to bother getting used to a different control scheme.
