It depends how you’re feeling. If any part of not having any updates in a while is that you don’t feel strongly about drawing more Science Woona then you should start something different right away. These ask blogs are simply hobbies after all, if you feel you have more ideas for other things while Science Woona is becoming a chore then you should definitely change things up. But if you have the drive to draw Science Woona again, then go for it. The fact you’re even asking seems to imply you’re not so sure about continuing. But if for any reason I’m wrong, then you probably should. Don’t let the audience decide if one of the options makes you any less happier
Verve’s Top 100 Friendship is Magic List - #100-#96
(Song used: Fire It Up - Thousand Foot Krutch.
Forgot to put this in the last one but in case you didn’t know the song for the Bottom 12 one, it’s Untitled by Simple Plan)
Now we’ve reached the beginning of the Top 100 after getting the 12 who were unfortunate enough to not even make this list. Though with Season 6 not too far from coming. The episodes from #100-#90 will really have to hope Season 6 completely fails in order for these episodes to stay within the Top 100. Because all it takes is a few good episodes in the next season to knock these episodes out of the 100 as well. These are the episodes that weren’t bad enough to not make the list in a 112 episode list but also weren’t good enough to get very far beyond that. That 112 Episode list will become 137 (An additional 24 [Assuming the opener and finale are Two-parters again] episodes + Equestria Girls 4) by the end of this year that’s nearly 1 ½ of full seasons that can’t even reach #100. So Spot #100 is only going to get harder for some episodes to squeak by and get. When we get to #75 and above, for the most part those episodes can rest easy as Season 6 would have to be an absolute perfect Season for those to even come close to being put down to anywhere near #100. But the episodes in this set of 5 as well as the next are near guarantees to fall out unless once again Season 6 proves to be a horrible season. Which I see no signs of which yet (No, Flurry Heart being an Alicorn is not one of them. Nice try :P) Without further adieu, let’s begin the Top 100!
Verve’s Top 100 Friendship is Magic List - Introduction & Bottom 12
Hello everyone! This is the beginning of a project that I’ve wanted to do a long time now. I just had to wait for the exact moment I wanted to start planning that. What is that moment? That is when the show reached over 100 episodes. Welcome to my personal Top 100 FiM list. This show has been and still is my favorite currently running show. And I am so glad it made it over 100 that I thought the best way to celebrate them is to reflect on every single one. And I’d like to share where I think each episode stand with one another. Show what episodes I feel are among the greats as well as those that I feel kinda fall off the wayside at times.
Each part for the exception of the first one (Which I will explain soon) will cover 5 episodes. Counting down from 100-96, 95-91, etc. all the way down to 10-6, and 5-1. I have even gone the extra mile to go a little fancy with short intro videos that contain a piece of music I like that goes along with Screenshots of at least one of the episodes contained in the part (Note: In these videos they don’t necessarily had to have screenshots for each of the 5 episodes. They could have only screenshots from one particular screenshots, just a few, or they could have something from all 5 after all). There will be 21 Parts in all. Most weeks will have 3 put up but for the first week I’m putting up just this one. And maybe I may have to do two instead sometimes.
By the way, I did not rewatch the series for this. And I understand that may make it sound like I have preconceived notions at times. But I assure you I have watched every episode at least twice and can give enough of a familiarity that I can remember what I liked and/or didn’t like in each episode. Rewatching the series would take a while (We’re at the point where if you marathoned the entire series nonstop including the trilogy of Equestria Girls movies it would take nearly 2 days to watch it all). And I might actually be ponied out if I tried marathoning even if I paced it around at a few episodes a day. With a combination of this and with so many episodes to cover you can say there’s a bit of a margin of error. And also some placements may not be permanent cause if Season 6 follows up on any previous episodes it is possible for Season 6 to improve a previous episode placement cause I do like to factor a bit of impact into the ranks. For the most part important episodes that introduce things for the future have an advantage over episodes that never got followed up on anything.
As a side note, Two-Parters are going to count as One episode. I feel it would be complicated to have the Part 1’s and Part 2’s separate. Another thing is the Equestria Girls films are eligible to be on the list as well. This brings the total amount of episodes/movies to 112. Now I’m sure your first question is what to do with the 12 that don’t make the Top 100. Do I simply just not mention them at all? Nope, the Bottom and/or Unranked 12 is actually what I’m covering first. So we can get the weakest out of the way before gradually getting stronger and stronger (In my opinion at least, I don’t expect nor do I think everyone will agree with me. I will try my best to be at least a little objective. But all-in-all this is still a personal list, you may still see a lot of Bias from my side. If you disagree with me on anything at all, I’m willing to talk it out but I’d like it if you do not flame me for putting a favorite episode of yours too low or a least favorite too high. Respect my opinions, and I’ll respect yours.). So how about we get started shall we? Bad news first, then nothing to go but up from there.
*I hope the video editor watermark isn’t too annoying as it will be on every video in this project. The point is just the audio and the images that pop up. Also this is not on Youtube because I don’t trust the site’s copyright system enough for this to stay there for very long, especially recently
As much as Friendship is Magic is a a great show. It’s far from perfect, there are quite a bit of times they mess-up on, whether it’s characterization, writing, and/or bad ideas to begin with. The episode has had it’s fair share of controversy as many episodes have a love it or hate it tag to them where it’s hard to find middle ground. It’s quite possible one of my Bottom 12 could be in someone else’s Top 10. Or one or even multiple episodes of my Top 10 would be in someone else’s Bottom 12 if they were ranking the episodes.
I do want to put a bit of a disclaimer. I’m one of the most positive Bronies you’ll ever meet. Most of the Bottom 12 I don’t even dislike personally besides maybe 1 or 2 of them. There’s usually one thing to like about every episode. And some of these Bottom 12 would be average or even good episodes in other shows. As Friendship is Magic sets a pretty high bar. These 12 are just those I don’t feel quite qualify for a spot in the Top 100. If you love any of the 12 mentioned to pieces, I do apologize in advance. But I promise you, even the worst episode of FiM would not be anywhere near one of the worst animation episodes in all of history. But speaking of which we’re starting at the very bottom of my barrel. The only episode I have a hard time thinking of a legit thing to like about it.
(On Tumblr just click below the break, for the forums I’m also posting this on just scroll down.)
Don’t worry, this post has barely anything to do with Star Wars Episode 7. I’m in fact being so secret about it that I’ll only give out my spoilery thoughts if someone wants to know what my current thoughts about The Force Awakens are. (Just ask if you really are curious)
This is something that mainly pertains to the previous six films. And something I want to confess as it may be somewhat an unpopular opinon. Granted it’s not a really, really, really unpopular thing like I think Phantom Menace is the best movie, heck no, I do definitely understand and say myself that it is the weakest Star Wars film (Though I don’t hate it with as much vitriol as some fans of Star Wars do)
But it is something that I’m sure if there’s anybody who finds my blog who’s a pretty strict “Original Trilogy only” person that I might get a bit of hate mail from. So brace for it after the break
I'm personally not a fan of Bayonetta at all, actually. Because, while I do think her move set for Smash looks interesting, I still would have much preferred Shovel Knight over her.
I’m not big on Bayonetta as I’ve said (I’m just ok with it)
Just that Shovel Knight definitely needs more time. If Shovel Knight becomes a much-loved franchise by the time Smash 5 rolls around then ok. I’ll accept him.
At the same time though, you have Bayonetta. Who has fast-firing weapons on both her hands and feets, interesting combo set-ups, demon portal attacks, and Witch time. While Shovel Knight would be another sword user. Shovel Knight could still be unique, but his shovel is still used the same way a sword could be used to fight. I’m one of those who do the stupid “Too many swordsman” complaint but I’d still think it’s best to have a character with more potential to be unique with signature parts of their character that no other character has. Not many characters have the same amount of insane fast combo potential that Bayonetta has. Even If you have no knowledge of the games or the moveset just looking at the artwork of Bayonetta makes you think of the sheer potential of how Bayonetta uses those weapons. Looking at Shovel Knight without knowing the games you just imagine a generic swordsman just replacing the Sword with a shovel.
Bayonetta has been around for a decent amount of time (Since 2009) compared to Shovel Knight (who was released less then a half year before Smash 4 ). Establishing herself as a franchise with 2 critically acclaimed games and unique moveset potential you can imagine by just looking at one picture of her with her signature weapons. That’s why that despite not knowing much about Bayonetta that I find her a much more interesting pick then if Shovel Knight had. Shovel Knight was only a few months old when Smash 4 came out, and the fact you have to see what he does in the games just to see what unique things he can do when everyone who isn’t aware of him thinking he’s just a generic swordsman doesn’t help.
FINAL SMASH BROS. DIRECT LIVESTREAM UPLOAD + THOUGHTS ON FINAL DLC
Well Smash 4 DLC has wrapped up it’s announcements. Smash is my favorite video game franchise so you bet I’m going to have this write-up on all this. Up in this post is the livestream of the direct. I turn the camera on and start speaking at about the 9:37 mark but if you just want to watch the direct part just skip to 22:37. I’d probably suggest skipping to certain parts because for the most part I’m pretty quiet. In real life I’m not the most talkative guy, and combine that with the fact I didn’t want to have my voice get in the way of watching. But there were certain parts where I said something and reacted with a bit of excitement or just plain “Wow” (Especially when it comes to Bayonetta).
Watch 22:37-25:17 for just the Corrin trailer. (If you want to see me through the full Corrin Part watch it from 22:37-30:38 instead)
30:39-37:50 is the Cloud part
37:52-40:10 is the Mii Fighter costumes (Geno, Tails, and Knuckles particularly got a reaction out of me)
40:45-43:34 for just the Bayonetta trailer. (As with Corrin, 40:45-52:29 for the full Bayonetta part)
After that is just two parts where I particularly mention or talk about something. About how the backgrounds of the 3rd Party characters + Mario makes a rainbow at 52:45-53:40
And lastly when trying to comprehend what happened I talk about how I gladly would of taken Bayonetta if it was between her and Shovel Knight. As well as how Shadow has no Mii Costume but Tails and Knuckles do at 57:26-58:52
So that’s there if you want to see my raw initial reactions. Though now I’ll get into what I do for the text and talking about these on a bigger level. Starting of course with the Corrin reveal
In regards to Starlight Glimmer, what kind of mind do you have to have before having a childhood friend sent away to a better school is enough to make you a mindless conforming, hostage taking, kray-kray jerk-wad!? In what bass-ackwards universe do you do that!? I think I hate her even more than before thanks to the finale.

I understand the sentiments. There definitely has to be something about Starlight that made her over-react like this. I don’t want to get too heavy into thinking she has some mental disorder as discussions like that can turn sour pretty quickly and could lead to generalizing people that have said problems and I don’t like doing that. But it’s clear Starlight has issues.
One thing that just has to be covered in Season 6 is Starlight reuniting with her friend Sunburst. We need to know why he couldn’t have just visited or sent letters to Starlight to reassure her. If he literally has no reason, then at least Starlight feels more like a victim in that her friend really did abandon her after getting his cutie mark. Though at the same time that makes Sunburst look like the big jerk now for never contacting his friend just because he got his Cutie Mark and was sent to the Magic school in Canterlot.
Like I said the way they did this is similar to if they had Sunset join the main show as a recurring character after the first Equestria Girls movie. We saw her being a bitch throughout most of the first movie, and then get pretty quickly reformed. If they had Sunset join the Main show as a recurring character after that, there’d be similar feelings regarding Starlight now. Just replace the time shenanigans & village manipulating with turning into a demon and trying to take over Equestria with mind-controlled teenagers. Now thanks to Rainbow Rocks and Friendship Games, people would love to see Sunset back in Equestria some day. So I imagine they’ll attempt to have that sort of thing for Starlight in-show. Assuming Equestria Girls never affects the show hugely, Starlight is pretty much this show’s Sunset even if course due to not having Sunset’s development in the last 2 EQG movies won’t be as popular. And depending how they portray her in Season 6 may or may not be as well-liked as Sunset’s turn-around that started with Rainbow Rocks. It probably doesn’t help that their last name’s rhyme and they’re both former foils for Twilight. So they kinda feel like carbon copies of one another.
Smash Bros. 4 Wii U/3DS Final Presentation coming 12/15/2015!
Big day that will be for certain. And as I said before, I plan to livestream sometime before and during the presentation in hype for the event :D
THE CUTIE RE-MARK + SEASON 5 THOUGHTS
NOTE: The Genie Twilight response is going to be a little late, I’ve been kinda busy this month. But I thought I’d at least release my thoughts on the Finale now and Season 5 as a whole too.
Well here we are at the Finale. I think as I did with Friendship Games, while I’m giving it another watch. I’ll be taking notes and start talking about my thoughts in a little more detail then how most of my responses are whatever comes to mind after I have watched an episode at least twice.
However unlike my Friendship Games review it may not exactly be nearly all gushing. HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean I disliked the Finale that much. I think it was still overall good. But I did feel weird both during and after this episode compared to watching previous Finales as in most previous ones (Canterlot Wedding, Magical Mystery Cure, and Twilight’s Kingdom) all left me VERY satisfied after the first watch. For some reason I’m not feeling that way this time for this Finale. Though I hope through doing this notes as I watch it again that perhaps I’ll understand a little more as to why.
So if you really loved the finale be warned there may be moments where I go on tangents that are somewhat critical. But please know that again I didn’t hate this Finale and I will praise what I felt they did good. But let’s get started
