Alrighty, I told you guys after I came back home I’d tell how my visit at Trotcon went. I may have been there for only about 5 hours but I got a good enough impression for a pretty great con experience I feel.
I’ll have a full breakdown as well as all the pictures that I have to show for Monday. But I just want to say right now I’m so happy I went. It was nice meeting some well-known artists, and it was especially awesome to meet with Pirate Dash’s mod. Technically I don’t have everything yet, as there’s a digital commission that I paid in-person to someone for a full-color picture. But otherwise I got some really nice physical stuff from the con that I really liked and I will be more then happy to show it all off when I have the chance.
Highlights for me mainly was again meeting with Pirate Dash where we had some good laughs here and there. I really felt sorry for him though when he was really disappointed with how his full-sized prints (The ones over $1 anyway) he was selling weren’t taking off too well. But I hope at least us meeting in-person made it a little more worthhile. You’re a huge reason I went in the first place, and I can’t thank you enough for prompting me about it on Skype many months ago. It was well-worth it. ^^
It was also so cool to see M.A. Larson, my favorite writer for the show, in person as well. His Harry Potter in Ponies panel was very cool and hilarious at times (He played Rebecca Black’s Friday and Never Gonna Give You Up just to mess with the audience in the crowd prior to the panel’s start. There was even a joke of the computer titles for what’s going on right now that said “M.A. Larson plays music from his phone”. I also got a picture with him as well which will be part of the stuff I show Monday for sure. Not that I didn’t already know this from watching him in some videos he really is a swell guy. While I planned to go even before M.A. Larson was confirmed as a guest I won’t lie that it made me want to go even more when I heard he was coming. It was so awesome.
There’s probably more that I’ll have to just look through the pictures and stuff I have to really get into everything that went on when I was there and I’ll have a bit of story explanations for some of it too if need be.
Anyway, I gotta get to bed soon right now it’s about 1 AM. But I am so glad I went. And I enjoyed my first con experience. If I ever go to another it may not be for a long while. As even this trip was kinda super expensive so I don’t think I’ll be back for if there’s a Trotcon 2016. Even if that ends up being the only real con I go to in my entire lifetime, I really enjoyed it though and don’t regret anything (Welllllll I did kinda throw up in the car after the Con, but I had quite a bit of Steak n’ Shake food in me that I ate prior to the Con where I made it through the whole con without feeling sick enough to throw up until the trip back home was starting. But otherwise that was really the only bad thing that happened for me). A big thank you to those who ran Trotcon as well as the many fellow fans and blog mods I got to meet in the process. ^^
Hey everyone, this is just a mod note telling you all that I’ll be at Trotcon. But only for one day at Saturday. I’ll probably arrive maybe.. 1:00 PM-ish and be just walking around as a regular attendee. But if there’s anyone that follows me that is also going I did make something so I can be recognized. I printed out a paper badge that I will use a Rainbow Dash pin to attach to a Twilight shirt I have. (I’ll also have a modpic of myself in what will likely be what I’m wearing so you can recognize my face if need be)
First here is the badge:

Click “Keep Reading” for a picture of the shirt with the pin attached as well as a modpic.
seminoles8-deactivated20161124 asked: I honestly thought that Slice of Life was just decent, nothing amazing, considering that I've been able to look past the whole "ZOMG BACKGROUND PONIES!". As for Amending Fences, I thought was good, not great, but good.
Well even beyond the excitement of the episode being a gift to the fans I still thought it was worthy of it’s own right of being a solid episode. The moral at the end being probably the biggest reason why.
And that’s ok, there are actually alot of episodes of the show that I definitely say were good but it takes an extra something to really make me love an episode. Which is why out of an over 100 episode show (Or well a little less then that right now considering I included two-parters as one episode in the list. But it will be over 100 no matter how you look at it by the end of Season 5) I only have 10 personal favorites of the series.
I’m not saying people even have to agree with my personal favs. I know Canterlot Wedding for example has it’s haters that despise every little thing about the episode. But I’m not going to let them try to convince me to not include it as part of my series’ favorite list.
All 10 of those episodes I mentioned are episodes I love nearly unconditionally and I just get something more out of them then the majority of the other episodes. I am by no means saying most of the pales in comparison to those 10 though, just I personally enjoyed them on a level most episodes don’t give me even if the episode was generally considered great.
tatsurou-san asked: Did you notice Starlight Glimmer in the background of the restaurant scene?
Not on the initial watch but I was tipped it when I came across an image of it. Either this is DHX messing with us or Starlight has a plan cooking up that includes spying on Twilight a little…
I’ll have a proper thoughts on the episode on a later date after I’ve calmed down a bit but if you’ll excuse me…
