Actually, please don't go after me for saying this, I'm one of the people who don't like Revenge of the Sith (or any of the prequels in general). Though I do feel bad for saying that, because I do think that there are some legitimately good elements in the movie. But don't criticize me when I'll say that I like Equestria Girls and still be called a fan of Friendship is Magic.

Don’t worry, I understand. Everyone has their thoughts and opinions.

While the Prequels as a whole definitely aren’t up to par with the Original Trilogy. I do feel each one was better then the last. And each of them I found something to enjoy even if Phantom Menace is probably the worst of the bunch. I do like how in the prequels the lightsaber fights were more faster paced, and some of John Williams music in the Prequels have become some of my favorite tracks of the Star Wars series. Though I actually really like Revenge of the Sith in particular because while it definitely has some of the same flaws of the previous two films. It felt the most like a Star Wars movie more then any of the others of the Prequels. The Anakin Vs. Obi-Wan fight is one of my favorite scenes of the entire series, and if there’s another thing the Prequels did right. Was how they portrayed Emperor Palpatine. I think the Nostalgia Critic took special note on this when he made a video of the “Top 11 things that are good about the Star Wars Prequels” but yes, I think how Revenge of the Sith got the emperor even outdid the rather short-lived appearance in Return of the Jedi.

And I’m perfectly fine if you like Equestria Girls. I don’t completely hate the movie, there are things to legitimately like about it. (Spike’s portrayal for one, and the cafeteria song was pretty catchy) But I just feel there are things that were quite weak in execution like the story and the antagonist. As well as introducing something that I just don’t think was necessary at all like Flash Sentry. I am going to watch the Sequel as soon as I find a decent copy that gets online. And I’ll be saying my thoughts on that movie too whether I like it more, just as much, or worse then the first movie.

After that though, I might be a bit quiet after that. Because my mind will be almost solely on Smash Bros. The 3DS version coming out only 6 days after Equestria Girls 2 first airs~

Though again here's the issue with Hans from Frozen, the idea of a twist on the "Generic love interest" I'm okay with. What I'm not okay with is how clumsily written they made the character into, by just making him evil with a flip of a dime. His evil plan made no sense, and his ulterior motive isn't compelling or interesting (what he just wanted to rule a kingdom, only because he can never inherent the throne from his brothers; Anakin's turn to evil was interesting compared to that).

Hold on a moment, first I kinda want to say what my experience with the Movie was.

To be fair, I’ve only seen the movie once. And most of what I remember is mainly the Elsa scenes (Ex: Like of course the one part that’s basically more widespread then the Movie at this point. The “Let it Go” song) and some of the scenes with the sister (Can’t even recall her name right now without looking it up :V). From my first watch I thought it was just a pretty decent Disney flick. Not something like some of the movies that came out in the 90s, but a decent one in it’s own right. I think as for more recent Disney 3D films I much preferred Wreck-It Ralph (That might be partly though because I’m a big gamer, and the movie was basically Toy Story for Gamers in a way).

So any problems like plotholes or character inaccuracies I don’t really care about it because I basically just casually watched it. It was a nice story, but not really compelling enough to make me a big fan of the movie like it has for some others. Really my biggest complaint in the entire movie was “Did the comic relief Snowman really need a song?”.

Still though, because I am a fan of Friendship is Magic. It’s why I’m rather critical of Equestria Girls. (As much as I’ve said about Flash Sentry, I don’t completely hate Equestria Girls. But I’ve said many times it’s a 5/10 movie for me. Not terrible, but not exactly good either). And from my point of view the jedi are evil (just kidding, just had to get that Episode III joke in when you mentioned Anakin xD I love Revenge of the Sith actually, but I know some of the lines are kinda corny), Flash Sentry would have been more interesting as an antagonist then what we got. He might still have been rather weak of a character if it was like Hans where he’s the nice guy from the start but then suddenly he’s a bad guy by the end. But it would still provide some intrigue to Flash Sentry (As heartbreaking as it would be, a scene where Twilight suffers a “If only there was someone who loved you” type thing would of spiced things up I think), and some intrigue is better then no intrigue whatsoever.

But here's the thing about Hans from Frozen though, it wasn't just because of how he's a jerk that I had an issue with if Twilight had a relationship with that kind of character instead, it's that he had no personality in addition to that, he's only a character that I hate-to-hate (unlike most villians in media). Because even though Flash had little to no personality like you said, at least he's a nice guy, and wouldn't end up being a bad influence for Twilight, unlike with Hans.

The more I think about it. The more I honestly think I would have preferred it if Flash was more like Hans or a villain in general. Because:

1. It’d be a twist on the “Generic love interest”. Anytime the show defies expectations is awesome (Example: The reveal of the Changelings in Canterlot Wedding still ranks up as one of the best surprises this show has done)

2. A legitimate reason why Sunset and Flash were together at one point. (Both antagonistic characters).

and 3. If Flash was an antagonist in the movie, he’d likely have a much bigger role then he did. Cause he’d have to be defeated just like Sunset had to be. Maybe Flash’s role in this hypothetical version of Equestria Girls is he’s trying to get back in Sunset’s good graces by manipulating Twilight. And wants to rule Equestria with Sunset. It wouldn’t fix how stupid Sunset’s plan to begin with was. But at least THAT would be an interesting Flash Sentry.

You know what, I would still have to respectfully and completely disagree. Since you still clearly do not understand my reasoning as to why I feel Flash Sentry is overhated, why don't you check out the posts from joshscorcher's tumblr (Fiery Joker) involving Flash Sentry, because he illustrates my thoughts on the character exactly, and was able to back up his claims with some legitimately good points.

I went and saw it, and most of it is just stuff you’ve told me. But the thing is I saw this part:

“Twilight did have a bad case of puppy love with Flash, but come on, she’s a teenager.”

I don’t see Twilight as a Teenager, or at least not how she is currently as of the end of Season 4. There is no definitive age for the Mane 6. But even if at least one of them were still in their teens at the beginning of the series. I feel that they’re young adults by the end of Season 4 (In other words the age range I view the Mane 6 from the beginning of the series I feel is from around 17-21. Some of them have had birthdays during the series as well). I’ve always felt that Twilight’s friendship studies was sort of her college. And her ascension to Princesshood was her graduation. I also can not believe Rarity or Applejack are teens because they run businesses. But this is just age headcanon difference.

And even though the HuMane 5 from Equestria Girls are clearly teenagers. We can’t doubt that since they are in High School. If a Magic Mirror can transform a pony and a dragon into completely different species. Who says it couldn’t de-age and re-age a bit depending on the universe as well?

Also he still brings up the point on part of why I dislike him:

“Then again… we know very little about him. He rarely says “I like this” or “I view things this way.” My problem with him is I don’t care about him. The story failed to generate any interest in him for me. You really could write him out of the plot and no one would mind.”

If I don’t care for him at all, and the story does basically nothing for me to try to do so. And you could literally replace him with anyone else in the movie in the one part he does have some importance (Proving Twi’s innocence to Vice Principal Luna). Then I feel no reason to like hi, If they’re giving Twilight a love interest, we should get some proper information other then Twilight keeps bumping into him randomly and to fill another High School cliche he’s the ex-boyfriend of the Antagonist. (And it’s not like that really contributed to anything, not even a simple acknowledgement from Sunset herself.) If they were going to be this shallow with the concept, it would of been better if they had included no love interest at all. Cause it’s true, erase almost every scene in Equestria Girls with Flash in it and the movie would of progressed the same way it did anyway. Flash Sentry is literally just there to fullfill the “We need a generic love interest because all movies that take place in High School needs one!”

And once again, the existence of Two Flash Sentries that Twilight bumps into randomly makes me think that the relationship between Twilight and Flash would just have too many complications if it was in the main show too. (Like I said, Twilight fell for the human one. But if it were to continue into the show. She’d be with the Pony one instead. And like I said before, that still counts as two different people AKA Cheating).

And I still don’t quite understand why the Hans from Frozen thing is all that relevant. As I said last time, Hans actually had a personality and had a connection with the girl in Frozen at the time they fell in love. The reveal that he’s a big jerk (“If only there was someone who loved you…”) is a shock and surprise when our only real clue which was actually a little clever is that he wanted them to get married after only one night of being together. Hans is one of those characters you love to hate. A character that you hate them for their actions, but you love them at the same time because they’re the catalyst for why the story gets as interesting as it does. (Another example would be Azula in Avatar: The Last Airbender) An in-show example for Friendship is Magic would be Lightning Dust, which sometime after the episode aired I disliked the character for nearly killing everyone of the Mane 6 but Rainbow Dash and feeling little to no remorse. But that was love-to-hate type hate, it just made Wonderbolt Academy that much bigger of an episode. While Flash is a character I dislike because he’s set up with the Main character of the Movie and literally has little-to-no importance whatsoever. I think a character that is disliked for having barely any character is worse then a character’s who’s personality is antagonistic. Because we usually get some sort of personal motive or reason for why they’re like that and gives us intrigue to the character. Something that characters like Flash always fail to do.

Although I agree with keeping the whole Flash Sentry debacle to an agree to disagree status, I'd still have to respectfully disagree with you on saying that Flash being made a more important character would not be good thing for the show. I don't know, are people like me and joshscorcher (Fiery Joker) the only ones who are willing to be devil's advocates for the character? And that everyone else just needlessly complain about him?

Well I have to say that Hans has something over Flash. He had a personality, even if he turned out to be a douchebag. I think a character with little to no personality is worse then a character who’s character is them being a jerk/evil/etc. because plenty of Antagonists (Ex: Most of the classic Disney animated villains such as Scar, Jafar, Frodo, Ursula, etc) have memorable personalities.

But when a character has barely any personality to show and he’s matched up with Twilight, I feel nothing for him and this I don’t care for the relationship with Twilight because the personality between the couple is literally just from Twilight. The only connection is Twilight has a crush on him, because… she keeps accidentally bumping into him? I’ve said before if there was a future episode where Twilight was going to date a character that’s been long established such as Big Mac, Fancy Pants, or any other known Stlalion that’s when I’d want to know where it leads because both characters have established personalities and we’ll see what happens between them in a romantic setting. I don’t get that from Flash because he has the personality of a cardboard cutout of himself smiling. Because all we know of him is he’s a nice guy. A relationship in a fiction should have some actual chemistry between the two characters.

Also, even if Flash did had more personality and even if he had chemistry with Twilight there’s still a huge problem: There’s two different Flash Sentries. The Flash Sentry that Twilight had a crush on was the human one in the EQG universe. The pony one is a different being. They’re the same character, but multiverse wise they’re still different beings. How can you have a relationship that started in one universe and expect the same type of relationship in the other? This would count as Twilight cheating on the Human Flash Sentry for the Pony Flash Sentry. If the Pony Twilight is a Princess while the human Twilight referenced in the first movie doesn’t even know the rest of the HuMane 5 and lives elsewhere from them means that the alternate selves live very different lives. Even if they’re the same character and personality. The two Twilight’s are different because of how their life is. The same should be applied to the two Flash Sentries. Just because Flash and Twilight spent time together in the human world doesn’t mean it should continue but with the Pony Flash in place of the Human one. Which would be the result if Flash was promoted to being a recurring character and as Twi’s boyfriend.

As such, it’s not just because I dislike Flash Sentry that I don’t want him to become more important in the main show. The relationship they have would not make sense even if I did like their relationship or the character. Luckily, I’m confident that Flash will not become more important in the show and probably will remain in Equestria Girls stuff only for the exception of the occasional cameos like in Three’s a Crowd and Twilight’s Kingdom in the Main Show. I’m not looking forward to any “moments” between Flash Sentry and Twilight in Equestria Girls 2 (Not really looking too forward to the movie in-general after seeing the official synopsis for it really. The only thing that I’m somewhat interested in seeing in the movie, is what the songs bring. The story feels like it will be about as lackluster as the first movie’s). And he probably won’t bother me so much as long as the Pony Twilight is not involved with that Spin-Off series that we heard was being developed in France. I feel even the writers know he was basically just there to fill in the “Generic love interest” criteria that’s apparently essential in any movie that’s centered around High School and know using him in the show for more then just cameo appearances isn’t necessary.
