It’s actually not that I’m trapped. I’m actually not as interested in Pokemon games as I used to ^^’ (Heck even when I was a big Pokemon fan. The only main series game I actually got to own was Pokemon Yellow)
Though don’t get me wrong though. I don’t dislike the Pokemon series. I still love to be a beast as Pikachu in every Smash Bros. game after all.

Unfortunately I don’t have Pokemon X&Y and probably won’t be getting it anytime soon. But if you want, I’ll still add you when I have the chance.
Alright, I have my dream address set and I might as well also post my 3DS Friend code. If you’d like me to add you, reply with your 3DS Friend Code or at least your Dream Address as well.

This was a pretty good episode.
Now I know that CMC episodes aren’t really highly regarded. The only CMC related episode in Season 1 that’s absolutely loved is Cutie Mark Chronicles (If that counts, as it’s also kinda a Main 6 episode as well). Season 2 had a few good ones in Sisterhooves Social, Family Appreciation Day, Hearts and Hooves Day (IMO at least), and Ponyville Confidential. Season 3 had Sleepless in Ponyville at the very least, and the current season has had Flight to the Finish. Every other CMC episode though get mixed responses at best.
I think Show Stoppers is a tad underrated, but I can understand why people might be annoyed by the episode because it seems to show what the CMC’s talents are. But about 60 episodes have run since that episode and none of them have their Cutie Marks still. Call of the Cutie was at least a decent introduction of Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo, Stare Master was generally ok. Even if like Pinkie Sense, we wouldn’t see the Stare used much. With Season 2, Cutie Pox was essentially filler. Nothing much is really gained though generally other then Cutie Pox the CMC episodes in Season 2 were generally better. Season 3 had One Bad Apple, which while it had quite a catchy song does have a bit of mixed responses in the way it handled bullying. In other words, Cutie Mark Crusader episodes have a broad range of how they’ve gone usually. Some have been some of the more annoying episodes of the show to some, and some ended up being at least in Top 10 or even ranked among the Top 5 episodes of the Season.
How much you like the Cutie Mark Crusaders might be one thing that works or against you going into this episode. I actually quite like the CMC, Sweetie Belle especially. So I’m happy to say that I think this episode I think has a similar quality to Ponyville Confidential. Not an entirely great episode, but good enough to be on the good side of CMC episodes. What’s interesting about this episode is usually Diamond Tiara is the catalyst of all she does since she’s almost always just there to be the recurring bully. But this time the CMC actually get the trouble themselves. Which might make it seem the CMC were idiots this time, but kids make plenty of mistakes. It’s how they learn better. The CMC do learn something from this, so it’s not totally for nothing like Cutie Pox was.
But enough about the CMC, another big thing this episode had was actually mentioning how Twilight is a Princess for once. I know people have given the season some flack for besides the opener not really using Twilight’s princess status like they could be. The biggest thing that got people raising their eyebrows was the cab driver that didn’t recognize her as a royal figure back in Rarity Takes Manehatten. But I really don’t think it’s that bad, Twilight’s Princess status not being as mentioned hasn’t exactly ruined most of the episodes. And it’s rather nitpicky. Also having her status occasionally come up again in episodes revolving around her is better then the other extreme. Where Twilight’s Princess status is somehow important to almost every single episode. Something like that could easily bring the show back to something I felt very much limited Season 1. Where Twilight had to have some role in the episode because she has to be the one that writes the moral at the end. The other extreme in Season 4 would be that every single thing that happens to the Mane 6 can’t happen without it being related to Twilight’s princesshood in some way. It’d essentially be putting a big sign over the screen that says “Twilight’s a Princess now! Remember? Huh huh huh?!” for every single episode. Even for those like me that like that Twilight’s an Alicorn Princess now, it’d be a bit grating.
Anyway on Twilight, she seemed really mature in this episode. She seemed to handle the crowd of fillies pretty great. And even seems a lot more comfortable with her status then she was during the opener. Which is really good to see. Oh I also have to say the entire fast food place part is the best scene of the episode. Not really just for Twilight eating burgers messily, but also what Scootaloo does for the Camera and everything. At first I thought that the tray around Pinkie’s neck meant that Pinkie seems to have a part-time Job at that fast food place. But then I realized since she’s an Earth pony those trays are probably there to help customers since well kinda hard to have the dexterity to hold all that food when your limbs are one big hoof.
So all in all, I think we had another good though not particular spectacular episode. That’s 2-3 great episodes, 1 rather weak episode, and 12 at least decently good so far. Chalk another one up for the quality consistency. Next week we have Fluttershy and the revival of a species that was first introduced in G3. Let’s see what this show does once again to stomp on what’s universally considered the bottom of the barrel the MLP franchise has gone through.
That’s fine. I personally can’t choose a least favorite of the Mane 6. Yeah all of them have their moments where they’re not the brightest of the bunch. But…
Twilight will always be my favorite even if she makes some rather dumb decisions like in It’s About Time from time-to-time. Because there’s episodes like Lesson Zero & Magic Duel that while the former may not be the best example of Twilight in the series managed to provide entertainment. While the latter episode had Twilight use her wits to win in the end.
I’ll always like Applejack despite her being so stubborn in Applebuck Season & The Last Round-Up. She’s supportive in many episodes where she’s not the star like Sisterhooves Social.
I’ll always like Rainbow Dash despite sometimes being a jerkass or an egomaniac in Boast Busters or Mysterious Mare-Do-Well. Because she learned to be much better in episodes like Hurricane Fluttershy and Wonderbolt Academy.
I’ll always like Rarity despite sometimes not coming off as generous as she could be. Because there’s also plenty where she does show her generous side like in Suited for Success and Rarity Takes Manehatten.
I’ll always like Fluttershy despite her sudden outburst in Putting Your Hoof Down that made her discorded self in Return of Harmony look like a saint in comparison. Because Hurricane Fluttershy alone got Fluttershy out of that hole.
And I’ll always like Pinkie Pie despite her behavor in Filli Vanilli because there’s episodes where Pinkie has been better. Like just two episodes ago in Pinkie Pride.
There’s a difference between that. Fluttershy probably thought Rainbow could take it because she usually likes to come off tougher then she is inside. But Pinkie should of known better, back in Griffon the Brush-Off she wouldn’t even do a harmless prank on Fluttershy. Her behavior in Filli Vanilli seemed worse then just a prank.
“But Rainbow Dash, just because you failed the Sonic Rainboom a hundred-thousand times in practice, doesn’t mean you won’t be able to do it in front of an entire stadium full of impatient, super-critical sports fan ponies.” (Fluttershy to Rainbow Dash in Sonic Rainboom)
“Yeah! It’ll be so amazing! You’ll be there on stage, basking in the hooflights! The center of attention! A shining star! Everypony staring at you, judging you, jealously noting how they could be way better than you? Why wasn’t it them? Why wasn’t it them? And then, when you choke, they’ll turn on you, becoming a seething, angry mob, and you’ll be horribly humiliated, never able to show your face in Ponyville again!" (Pinkie Pie to Fluttershy in Filli Vanilli)
And I don’t know about you, but at least Fluttershy’s line sounds like it’s trying to be supportive even when it’s really not. Pinkie’s is just pushing Fluttershy’s stage fright fears right in her face. It’s all about intentions. Fluttershy thought she was helping Rainbow Dash, what was the intention of Pinkie’s line? To scare Fluttershy even further?
(all asks by its-homerj)
Ask #1: I’ll admit that Pinkie’s behavior in the Filli Vanilli episode did bug me at first, but the more I thought about it, I felt it was in line with Pinkie’s character. Because it’s been made clear that she’s not that good at handling situations involving what the other characters are going through, see Mmmystery on the Friendship Express, Super Cider Squeezy 6000, and Over A Barrel. Wouldn’t you agree with this?
Ask #2: How could you say that Pinkie’s behavior in Filli Vanilli is stupid and out-of-character? Haven’t you seen what Josh Scorcher had wrote about it on his tumblr blog The Fiery Joker?
Ask #3: I feel that Pinkie’s behavior in Filli Vanilli is just another sign that she’s a 3-dimensional character who’s not perfect and has her flaws, and not a caricature of only making others smile. Do you agree with this?
1. Yes, Pinkie being a bit insensitive to other character’s feelings is a flaw of hers and it’s plain as day. It’s why I concede that she wasn’t exactly out of character in Filli Vanilli. My problem was they took it a little too far. I don’t think the Pinkie in Griffon the Brush-Off or Pinkie Pride would of even considered doing what she did to Fluttershy in the episode. You can’t tell me the Pinkie who called bullshit on when Gilda made Fluttershy cry is fine with herself making Fluttershy cry. It’s not too out-of-character on paper, but the way they portrayed it in the episode was too mean-spirited for me to believe Pinkie could do such a thing.
2. I went over to see that. While it’s a viewpoint that might be considerable enough for people to cling to if they want to still like how Pinkie was done in the episode. But I just… don’t agree with Josh Scorcher’s thinking. I also never said she was out-of-character. Again, I know one of Pinkie’s flaws she’s shown throughout the series is sometimes she isn’t aware of other people’s feelings like Luna’s in Luna Eclipsed, or Rainbow in Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000. But at least in the case of Luna Eclipsed she had a reason: it’s Nightmare Night/Halloween, the time where being scared is part of the fun. In Filli Vanilli? She bothers Fluttershy (One of her best friends) to the point of tears twice and not once shows remorse for it, the others tell her to knock it off in-episode but Pinkie did this for no particular clear reason.
3. I honestly can’t see why Pinkie stressing out Fluttershy twice makes her a stronger character. The only thing it adds if it does at all is make Pinkie look like a complete jerk. It’s true Pinkie doesn’t always have to hold up to the ideal of what the Smile song and most of Pinkie Pride shows. There are episodes where I enjoyed Pinkie where she was generally there for her jokes which sometimes came at the expense of other ponies. (Examples: Applebuck Season, Green Isn’t Your Color, and The Last Roundup) Episodes where her schtick isn’t making ponies smile, but when she’s not trying to make ponies happy like in most of her episodes where she’s the star of the episode. She’s supposed to make the people watching her from the TV/Computer screen (I don’t mean by breaking the 4th wall, I mean by actually being funny) smile and laugh in it’s place. Now humor can sometimes be as subjective as music, some humor doesn’t work as well for others. Like maybe you found her in Filli Vanilli funny and one of the examples I brought up you may think she was not funny in that episode. There is such thing as overdoing a character flaw though, and like I said about Twilight in Lesson Zero. That alone isn’t a bad thing, when it comes off as mean-spirited behavior that I and others like me think that the character should be incapable of doing however. Let’s just say I’ll never agree that this kind of behavior actually enhances a character.
P.S. My view on this episode is just about in line with The Mysterious Mr. Enter’s review on the episode. This episode is good even with Pinkie’s behavior. But if they changed it or even removed Pinkie’s parts of the episode altogether. The episode could of been even better.
dhk1989 said: It has me wonder if the writers know if one of them overexaggerates character traits at times.
Character trait exaggerating alone isn’t a bad thing in Friendship is Magic. You could argue Lesson Zero had Twilight’s tendency to snap when things aren’t going right especially when Celestia is involved like she showed in Swarm of the Century or A Bird in a Hoof went a little too over-the-top. But Twilight’s insanity was actually funny and didn’t derail her character (At least, IMO) while Pinkie’s just was not funny. :S (Well not entirely true, I admit I laughed a bit when she told Fluttershy she sounded like a dude. But that’s probably one of the few laughs I got from Pinkie in the episode)
I’ll just say she was pretty much a jerk for much of the episode xP Like about as bad or perhaps even worse then she was to Luna in Luna Eclipsed. Technially it’s not out of character, but it exaggerates one of Pinkie’s flaws to the point she seems actively mean to Fluttershy in Filli Vanilli. It’s also stupid because it’s two episodes after Pinkie stopped a crazy goof-off after she noticed Rainbow Dash was not having a good time.
I actually don’t have alot to say on this episode.
But it was quite enjoyable still. I think my favorite thing is how it brought back Flutterguy in a clever way. Whether you liked or disliked Bridle Gossip, most agree Flutterguy was a pretty awesome part of that episode.
The only huge complaint I have with the episode is how Pinkie’s been portrayed. But I think I’m definitely not the only one that noticed Pinkie was a bit off. So I don’t really have anything new to say on the episode. So this is a real short one. If you feel I should say more about the episode you can leave an ask me on something specific about the episode through the ask box on my modblog.
I’ll keep that in mind. Thank you ^^
Two days ago I bought Animal Crossing: New Leaf. I saw a let’s play of it, and I rented it for a time as well. I enjoyed it enough that I felt like it was a keeper. One of the best things about it is the customization features. I don’t have the QR code thing that comes up in the hedgehog sister’s shop yet. But just from the things you can change from the very beginning. Here’s what I’ve done:
First you should know is I’m going by Verve in the game. And I named the town Smashpon.
First here’s an attempt I did at making my Blog’s avatar into a shirt. While it isn’t a perfect copy. I think it’s still fairly done well
A night shot with the town flag. It’s Smashpon, so I gave it the Smash Bros. symbol ^^
And lastly a Twilight Sparkle themed hat and a Sonic shirt!
I don’t have a dream address yet. So for any friends of mine that also have the game will have to wait a bit until I do. But otherwise, I hope to have some good times with this game ^^
Oh right, these Directs normally have new char reveals don’t they? Hyyyyyyype c:
I don’t think Rool has much of a chance not being in DKCR TF, but Dixie, yeah. And what about…..Cranky? xDThere’s also rumor’s of Diddy and Dixie being a tag team similar to Ice Climbers this time around too xP
Diddy and Dixie as tag team? That would be cool. .3.
And Krool’s owned by Rare. Nintendo can’t use him.
Not true

hype hype hype, love these
Prepare for Diddy Kong’s return in SSB4, Appleshy :>
(Or possibly Dixie Kong or even King K. Rool o:)
We’re halfway through the Season! And I can safely say, we have a 12 out of 13 streak of enjoyable episodes.
Now this wasn’t the most amazing episode. But that’s not what I was expecting anyway. My expectations were set at something around Hearts and Hooves Day. An episode that also liked Simple Ways had Romance as part of it’s humor that I enjoyed quite a bit actually.
And… I think it delivered spectacularly. I surely hope that among people who may not like the episode is just because it has one of the main characters fawn over a new Male character (AKA one of the first reasons, but definitely not the only one people like I don’t like Flash Sentry’s place in Equestria Girls). It works this time because Rarity having dreams of settling down with a certain stallion is in-character for her. We saw Rarity really want Prince Blueblood back in Season 1 before he turned out to be a jerk. Rarity is the romantic type. Flash Sentry was there just to be there and the story would have barely changed if he had not been in the movie in the first place. While Trenderhoof in Simple Ways was plot relevant and actually had a notable personality and background.
(Oh and speaking of the whole Flash Sentry thing. Another scratch against EqG’s canonicity. Twilight’s the one that notices Rarity has a crush. And nopony calls her out on that and refers to Flash Sentry. Hehe.)
This episode just has really good dialogue and character related jokes. If some are turned off by the premise, I could understand why people may not like this episode as much. But I’m not the biggest romance fan in the world. Yet I enjoyed Hearts and Hooves Day and this one as well for similar reasons: they were hilarious. I could see Rarity saying “I LOVE BEING COVERED IN MUD” being the line of the episode that makes me laugh no matter how many times I see it much like “OH COME ON!” from Hearts and Hooves Day. Crazy Rarity was just amazing, and Applejack shrugging off Trenderhoof while managing to help Rarity at the end really was nice to see.
Romance at all being a part of an episode is going to be put under very subjective opinions. Some people will probably hate this episode for the premise alone. Love Triangles like this kinda ruined some things about the first season of Legend of Korra where the Love Triangle would begin and annoyingly be brought up again to make viewers cringe. But this is Friendship is Magic, where not a lot of things are changed immediately that affect future episodes (There are obvious exceptions of course however). So I don’t think we’ll be seeing Trenderhoof for a while now for example. People could choose to bypass this episode and it wouldn’t really come up again in later episodes. But regardless, I liked the episode for what it’s focus really was on: The humor of Rarity trying to act like Applejack, and many of the jokes as a result of character interaction (Ex: Spike’s face when Rarity mentions how she can’t handle “Liking someone when that someone likes someone else already). A lot of what happens in the episode makes sense, the humor was masterfully done. Great performance by Tabitha in her voicework in the episode. A nice and funny episode to get to the halfway mark of the Season. We’re halfway though the season, and another 13 to go. The next 13 will really have to screw up big time for this to not be the best Season now as we have our best 13 episode stretch of the series so far.
Which would be ironic considering Sonic lately has been more Nintendo then Sony xD
PFFFT. That’s perfect. XD
And yeah, Sonic’s becoming more of Nintendo’s property than Sega’s at this point.
To be fair though, there is an untitled Sonic game coming out in 2015 that will be on the Wii U, PS4, and Xbox One that was announced recently.
Which would be ironic considering Sonic lately has been more Nintendo then Sony xD
I loved this episode
Really
Really
REALLY loved it.
Best episode since the opener for sure. And the best Pinkie episode of the series. This episode manages to fix what Friend in Deed did wrong. Friend in Deed had the Smile song, but that was literally the only highlight of the episode. Smile, Smile, Smile represented Pinkie for who she really is but the rest of the episode had her annoy the heck out of a character that didn’t want to be bothered. But this episode is so filled with positivity and fun moments as if they took what Smile, Smile, Smile represents to Pinkie Pie and managed to remember how it represented her well, and filled an entire episode with it.
This is the Pinkie we know and love. She’s not always the best character in every single episode. Heck she was pretty flat in the previous episode Three’s a Crowd where she can be carried away from her friends by a simple balloon or she gets overexcited for used furniture. But Pinkie Pride shows clearly why people love Pinkie Pie. This is Pinkie Pie’s equivalent to Hurricane Fluttershy for Fluttershy. In case you’re not familiar with how I thought about Hurricane Fluttershy. I praise it as one of the best of the series. In fact this is the first non-Twilight centered episode I’d say are among my favorites ever since Hurricane Fluttershy itself (My favorite episodes of the series are: Cutie Mark Chronicles, Lesson Zero, Hurricane Fluttershy, Canterlot Wedding, Magic Duel, Magical Mystery Cure, Princess Twilight Sparkle, and now Pinkie Pride is on that list). That should be quite a compliment for this episode already.
Weird Al Yankovic did an amazing job performing in this episode. He felt very natural, he didn’t take the entire spotlight, and his character is one of the best one-shot characters in the show. I must give kudos to him and the staff for managing to bring him in for a very memorable appearance. Additionally, I can see Cheese Sandwich X Pinkie Pie becoming one of the most popular Pinkie Pie ships out there. Both characters played off each other very well, and the fact Pinkie was the reason he became a Party Pony traveler in the first place should be all that people need to ship them more then most ships, even more so then some of the Main 6 only combination ships. Also I’m personally dubbing the name of the ship Pizza. Since that’s essentially what a “Cheese Pie” is. Maybe it’s a tad unorthodox and some people would rather go for something like “Cheesie” or “Pinkieese”. But Pinkie and Cheese Sandwich themselves are rather strange, I think a ship between them deserves more then the usual portmanteau shipping names.
We now even have half of the Rainbow keys now and still have another half a season to go. Oh my gosh, I think I’m falling in love with this season so, so much. It has surpassed Season 3 already methinks in terms of the overall sense (Though I’m hoping to have at least one or two more truly great episodes like the Opener and this one) and I think right now it might even be almost better then the first season was already. And at the rate it’s going. It will even surpass Season 2, my current favorite of the show. I just have no words for how things are going right now.
Also just like Magical Mystery Cure, this episode seems to make me always smile by the end of the episode. Is it just because they managed to make another musical that’s really full of positivity? My favorite song is probably Pinkie’s Lament. It’s funny though, my favorite songs from both Musical episodes seems to be the sad ones. As I liked I’ve Got to Find A Way the most from MMC as well, Celestia’s Ballad also kinda counts as a tear jerker and I loved that one too. But more of a Tears of Joy kind of thing.
Agggghhhhh, I just love this episode to pieces! I think I said all I really could. Pinkie Pride provides an example of why I love this show so much when it is at it’s best. My favorite part of Pinkie’s Lament that always managed to give me a chill illustrates exactly what this episode did. “They love seeing me, the Real Pinkie. Show them the time of their life, like they’ve never known!”. As this episode did show the real Pinkie Pie and gave us one heck of an episode. I must give all the kudos to everyone who worked to make this episode. Very much well done from the higher-ups like Meghan and Jayson, to the many animators and storyboard artists, and of course Daniel Ingram, Amy Keating Rodgers & Weird Al Yankovic for providing another great musical episode.
